Solo Travel Part 8 - Kampar (Part 1)

Life without the internet = no blogging *sigh* Yes, it's something that I've to look into & ensure that I somehow get the internet access soon...
Anyways, here's some more updates from my solo trip last month ;)
**********
The trip to Kampar from Penang was indeed an adventerous one. I decided to take the ferry from Penang island to Butterworth instead of taking the bus straight to Kampar (which I will end up with a junky bus). At Butterworth itself, I just took some bus to Ipoh to take a local bus to Kampar...it was quite an adventure to "bargain"/haggle + argue with the ticket-sellers at the Butterworth Bus Terminal! *lol*
Being "new" to such an adventure, I just went ahead asking around & boarded any bus that heads to my destination. In the end, I hopped on to the Perak Transit from Ipoh to Kampar, which costs RM4.00/trip. Not a bad deal, really, since the bus is quite new :) It's a 40minutes bus ride from Ipoh to Kampar...
Kampar is a rather small town, with almost everything you need within 5-10minutes drive :)
The market offers a good variety of food in the morning. Thanks to my friend, WY, who hosted me in Kampar, I was introduced to a good variety of food available at the small town :)
One of the more unique sights you'll get to see is the "sitting char kuey teow uncle"! He actually sits down to fry the noodles...hahaha...this is my 1st time seeing such a "scene". I didn't get to try out his char kuey teow as he said we'll have to wait for an hour if we want to order a plate of fried noodles from his stall *sweat* We were too hungry to wait.
We ended up having a good plate of chee cheong fun instead! Curry chee cheong fun at Kampar is GOOD! Yums :)
I also tried the famous Kampar claypot chicken rice, Pusing town's "sang har mee", & seafood at Tg Tualang! I'll publish the blog post on those food asap! Stay tuned yeah?

->leo: Ah! So u got to try the chee cheong fun out :) I liked the curry + the smooth chee cheong fun! The next time I get there, I wanna try out the fried keuy teow from the uncle who sits & fry! :P
that one I'd tried already :) a few months ago.. lol!!! looks good but doesn't taste as good.. got the smell of charcoal but taste-wise, head up to Penang :)
but then there's another similar stall further in the market which is better... according to my Kampar friend!! check that out ok?
->leo: Sure! I'll check it out when I actually get to Kampar again...which I don't know when! :D Thanks for the recommendation!
