Halal: Yes

Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur is celebrating the 57th Merdeka Day & the Malaysia Day with their collection of prized gourmets by their "Master & Mizzy Chefs"! Throughout the entire month of September, don't miss the opportunity to taste the best dishes by the team of chefs at Dorsett Regency, led by the Executive Chef Yau Kok Kheong.

According to Chef Yau, “To be good at what you are doing, you have to have passion and a striving spirit. And to be a great chef, you have to constantly push yourself to deliver quality food, to be creative, to be able to accept criticism and always sharpen your culinary skills. It is also important that we are a team player because no one can work alone and like a musical orchestra, our role in the kitchen complements each other. Nevertheless, my culinary team is made of different and very unique individuals. Regardless of their background, race and culture, when they come into the kitchen, they are recognized as chefs or cooks and they are expected to deliver nothing but quality food to our guests. Hence, I am proud to say that as a Malaysian, we are able to cook with one pot and serve from the same kitchen,” Yau concluded.

The winning dishes will be available at the buffet spread, so do make your reservations to enjoy the sumptuous & scrumptious spread! Here's a feast for your eyes before your mouth & stomach get to the dishes :D

Chef Badrol Hisham – Sous Chef
1. Master of Pastry Show pieces

We started the buffet night with a refreshing mocktail to whet our appetite. The drink had crushed ice, mint, lemon & lime juice among the many other ingredients. It would be great to just have a glass of this drink by the poolside while relaxing!

As I was really late to arrive for dinner that night due to the unbelievable traffic jam, I only managed to taste the beef noodles, which were quite tasty. I wish it had more flavor/ a thicker beef stock to give the broth an 'umph'! Super sad that every other winning dishes were savored by everyone else already. The early bird gets the first worm :( Boo....
