Good Banana Leaf Rice, Jaipur Curry House TTDI

>> Tuesday, January 8, 2013

Overall comment: Fragrant, satisfying banana leaf/briyani rice. The fried chicken, fish, & squid rings were REALLY GOOD! Crispy, flavourful & paints a smile on my face! :D
Halal: Yes

We were supposed to go to Nirwana Maju at Bangsar for a project team lunch, but our SG colleagues arrived half an hour later than expected, so Nirwana would have been packed by then. Thus, we decided to head to Jaipur Curry House at Taman Tun Dr Ismail, not too far away from office.

It's my 1st time there (I rarely dine at areas such as TTDI) & I had a lovely meal with no regrets! Pam & I shared a mutton briyani instead of white rice & our manager ordered some fried chicken, fish, & squid rings for sharing - oh, such joy! They were crispy, nicely marinated (although looked quite red in colour), & weren't over-cooked/dry! *drools* Unfortunately, I didn't manage to snap any photos of the fried side dishes :D

Mutton Briyani
Nicely flavoured, not too try, not too spicy, not over-powering with spices - JUST NICE! Loveeee.... not to forget, the mutton pieces were very tender as well :)

Although we felt the food was pretty good, there wasn't much crowd at this place...hmm...yes, I'm sure there are always better places to eat, but hey, this place is satisfying to the PerutBesi :)

Jaipur Curry House
For a satisfying banana leaf rice + side dishes! It's not over-priced as well...of course there are cheaper places or places with better quality Indian food at the same price, but I felt that it's not too bad for a 1st impression. Bottom line, all of us were satisfied with the food here.

Went there once with the sibling. Got the racist treatment - waited longer than it was necessary for someone to come take our order, AND they attended (right away) to an Indian dude that came in after us while we're still sitting there, waiting for someone to attend to us.

Never again.

@synical: Hmm...we didn't get such treatment that day...my Chinese manager ordered & we had Chinese, Malay, Indian, & a European as well. Perhaps the European did the trick? Haha...
