Beef & Mutton Noodles, Kepong

>> Monday, October 1, 2012

Overall comment: Pretty good beef (cow's stomach, tripe, meat...etc) & mutton noodles in the heart of Kepong. It's not the best, but it's good enough to satisfy one's craving for beef/mutton noodles. I think the stall opens only for breakfast & lunch, but I'm not sure when is their off-day.
Halal: Don't think so since it's a stall in a Chinese coffeeshop

Monday blues ar....

To cure the feeling of "Monday blues", JS took us all the way from Damansara Heights to the heart of Kepong for a good bowl of beef/mutton noodles! Crazy, right?? :D It sure made our day....hahaha...

It's just a simple stall in a Chinese coffeeshop at the Metro Perdana area, right behind Carrefour. Looking at the environment of the coffeeshop, it seems like this is the one stall that most people will order from - not any other noodle/rice stall...hmmm....that good?

The uncle was really busy & by just ordering FOUR bowls of beef noodles (with slightly different specifications), uncle got a bit confused already. He even forgot that we ordered a bowl of beef balls! *faints* Uncle, uncle....

If you haven't eaten beef noodles with the "wan tan mee" noodles, you can try it here. It's quite nice :)

Beef Noodles with Assortment of Beef "Spare Parts" (RM7.50/bowl)
Tender & juicy beef & stomach products...haha. Yums! The soup is also very flavourful & quite thick. I would actually prefer mine to be slighly diluted so that I can drink it all up. This one feels too... "overwhelming"! :D

Same noodles, but without beef pieces, I think

Mutton Noodles (RM7.50/serving)
It's slightly different from beef noodles & the uncle recommended to have it with dry noodles instead of soup. Only when it arrived that I knew why he recommended the dry version - it doesn't have "spare parts"! Aiseh. I thought it would be just like beef noodles, but of goat/lamb instead of the cow :P The meat was tender & well braised 'til the meat absorbs the fragrance & flavour of the gravy. It goes quite well with the "wan tan mee" noodles, which is nicely "springy".

Here's where the coffeeshop is located

Name of the coffeeshop

If you're around Kepong or if you're just as crazy as I am (my colleagues included!), you can pop over to try it for yourself. It's not too bad, really. Not the best, but good enough to rid "Monday blues"! :D
