Surisit Thai Kopitiam

Overall comment: Good thai food at an affordable price :)
Halal: No

Few days back, my colleagues & I had lunch at Surisit, a Thai kopitiam located at Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI). The kopitiam looks like a humble-looking eatery that doesn't offer anything fancy, but to my pleasant surprise, the "humble-looking" food served were really satisfying :)

Surisit is opened for breakfast through dinner. As with most eateries, they offer a good variety of set lunches to satisfy the palette of hungry lunch-hour workers :)

Most of their set lunches come with a drink or you can do an add-on for half the usual price displayed on their menu.

My lunch: Phat Krapao Moo Sap (RM7.90/set)
It's actually stir-fried minced pork with basil served with white rice & a fried egg. I loved it! The minced pork was really fragrant & quite spicy for me, but it was just some comfort-food for the PerutBesi :) With this set, I could order a drink for RM3.90 instead of the usual RM7.90.

Another dish in the lunch set: Belacan Fried Rice (RM7.90/set)
This didn't look like a fried rice, but once you mix the ingredients together, it's actually quite fragrant.

Thai-Style Fried Kuey Teow
One of my colleagues had this - it looks really interesting! But it's slightly sweet; something that I won't really fancy :S

Set lunch of the month: Phat Krapao Moo Sap (RM14.90/set)
This set comes with a drink & although it's the same thing as what I had that day, the egg is served as an omelette instead of a fried bull's eye egg.

Set lunch: Tom Yam Kung Noodles (RM7.90/set)
Spicy & sour - very appetizing! Yums :D

Pee Kai Yat Sai (RM4.90/piece)
Deep-fried chicken wings stuffed with minced chicken & prawns - quite interesting & the taste was satisfying.

Tub Tim Krob (RM6.90/serving)
I find this too sweet for my liking & the red rubies were slightly too soft. I prefer it firmer.

I won't mind going there again for meals. The only set-back is the availability of parking spaces, which are quite limited. I hope to try out their other dishes in my next visit :D
