Restaurant Piccadilly, Petaling Jaya

Venue: Restaurant Piccadilly, Section 14
Occasion: Dinner with parents
Overall comment: Decent food at affordable prices. I still am amazed at their variety!
Halal: Yes (food only, as it's like a mamak, but beer is sold)

Good + cheap food always draw a crowd! I didn't know of Piccadilly's existence 'til late last year. This place has been around for a very long time, I'm sure, but the PerutBesi has been exploring places out of Petaling Jaya/Selangor that she over-looked her own "territory"!

Located below a block of condominiums called Millennium Square, this restaurant offers an extensive variety of food: local Malaysian, Indian, Thai, Italian, Chinese, & Malay. I was totally amazed...there are at least 200 different types of food at this restaurant! There is also a list of roughly 30 types of drinks & desserts (I felt that the desserts weren't very appealing - the last time I tried some, they looked nice, but didn't taste very nice)

This time around, I took both my parents there for dinner. They were quite pleased with the food at Piccadilly's, which was a relieve to me, since my dad can be quite picky with food (he's a typical Chinese man).

Lemon Chicken with Steamed Rice (RM6.90/serving)
This was the best among the 3 dishes that we ordered to share. The deep-fried chicken wasn't dry & the skin was deliciously crispy! :D The lemon sauce wasn't too sour nor too sweet as well - just the way we liked it. For RM7, it was a meal worth having.

Mee Rebus (RM5.40/serving)
According to my dad, so far, no other mee rebus is better than the one at the Giant Hypermall in Kelana Jaya's food court. This one is acceptable, but it certainly wasn't to his expectation.

Fish Head Meehoon (RM5.90/serving)
My mum's a big fan of fish head meehoon & this wasn't very much like how fish head meehoon is supposed to be like. The soup is quite fragrant, but it's not alike the authentic fish head meehoon, where evaporated milk & Chinese cooking wine are used. For as long as I have known how this noodles is served, I have never seen carrots & spring onions in it, but this one is surely unique...hahaha...Oh, I miss good fish head meehoon!!

On the overall, this place has decent food. You just have to know what to order & what not to bother ordering. I believe their Western, Indian, & local ranges are pretty good for the price you pay. I've tried their naan & thought that it wasn't too bad :) Do try it out when you're around the area ;) It's opened throughout the day, from breakfast through supper!
