Farewell 2010, Welcome 2011!

>> Sunday, January 2, 2011

I'm back from the Youth Quake 2010 camp!! Fuh! It was a blast & I'm dead tired!

The year 2010 surely ended well :) Year 2011 began on a great tone as well, assuring me that God's in control of every single step of my life.

Here are some snapshots of what's been happening to me during my "absence" from this blog. I'll indeed be blogging more food stuff this year! *woots*

Winter Solstice Festival a.k.a. "Dong" 2010
The "grandest" festival for the Cantonese people is the Winter Solstice Festival, which falls on the 22nd of December each year (at least for my family). This year, as per every year, we had a family gathering with more than 10 different dishes to savour! Oh, the joy of indulging into home-cooked food is bliss!

(clockwise, L>R): Roast duck, Pan-Fried Prawns, Vegetable Curry, & Stir-Fried Broccoli with Peppers & Mushrooms

(clockwise, L>R): Baked dry curry potatoes with onions, Stir-Fried "Nga Ku", Hakka-style braised pork with black fungus, Stir-Fried Cucumbers with Liver in Vinegar

(clockwise, L>R): Baked chicken breast with garlic, ginger, & onions, Braised Mushrooms with Abalone, Tong Yuen, & a table filled with food!

Christmas 2010 in Kuantan
Christmas is best spent with family & friends. This year, my family decided to celebrate Christmas out of PJ for a change. We ended up in Kuantan for 3d2n, & it was truly an enjoyable weekend get-away for us! There's nothing much to do in Kuantan apart from walking on the beach, relaxing, & eating :P The best part for my family was perhaps the meeting up with my Kuantan families for meals & catch-up!

Youth Quake 2010 @ Peacehaven, Genting Highlands
Youth Quake is a national-level camp organized by the Board of Youth Work (BOYW) & the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC). The camp is opened to mostly English-speaking Methodist churches, & also to all Christians & non-Christians alike. This year's theme was "Shockwave", & it was indeed a blast of a camp! God is good all the time!!

New Year's Eve Celebration 2010
A simple gathering of friends is all I need...ah, lovely food & catch-up with good company. The food combination felt like breakfast, but who cares? As long as it's good food shared with good friends, it's more than enough to ask! ;)

 Anyone for blue cheese? :P

Farewell 2010, Welcome 2011!

I'm looking forward to a new year filled with more excitement & blessings in abundance :) May your year 2011 be a wonderful year from its beginning to the end of the year! God bless!

Always,
