Otak-Otak Place, IOI Boulevard

Venue: Otak-Otak Place, IOI Boulevard
Occasion: Lunch with colleagues
Overall comment: Nicely air-conditioned place for a decent meal. Their set meals are quite affordable i.e. RM9.90++/set that comes with a main course (rice + 1 dish or noodles) & a glass of 'drink of the day'.
Halal: Yes

Otak-Otak Place @ IOI Boulevard is one of the nearest 'nicer-eatery' near my current workplace. To the very least, it's walking distance, so parking isn't a problem, & it's air-conditioned.

 Otak-Otak
I dare say that the otak-otak here can't be compared to the Otak-Otak Muar. Somehow, the Otak-Otak here feels like the commercial "more flour than fish" kinda otak-otak. The taste is acceptable, but there's no "kick" to it...

Fried Noodles
Apart from otak-otak, this place serves rice & noodles. One of our friends ordered this "mi goreng" & he said it was "okay". Hmm...not totally convincing, eh? :P

Barbecue Chicken Rice
This is the halal version of the Chinese "char siew" rice. According to my friends, they said that this one's pretty good. To begin with, it actually smells quite good! Not too bad for a supposedly otak-otak specialty restaurant.

Mee Bandung
Shaida said this is not too bad & each time she comes to this place, she'll never fail to order this noodle dish. I've never had a fancy over Mee Bandung, & I guess I've never really tried it for good (unless you count those Mee Bandung that I've eaten last time at my university's cafeteria). What makes a good Mee Bandung? *scratches head*

"Kampung-Style" Fried Rice + Fried Chicken Set (RM9.90++/set)
This set isn't too bad except for the fact that it's kinda oily. Apart from the oil, the taste is actually alright...not too spicy for me. You'll get a "palm-size" piece of fried chicken with the rice, some cucumbers+carrots achar, 1 fried egg, some fish crackers/keropok, & some sambal. The set also comes with a glass of "drink of the day" e.g. orange juice.

Sweet & Sour Fish with Rice Set (RM9.90++/set)
If you don't fancy spicy food/chicken, this set would be the best for you. No doubt you can't compare it with the sweet & sour fish at Chinese restaurants, but it's good enough to be eaten without much complaints. I would much prefer my dish with more gravy to accompany my rice 'cause this one looks slightly too dry for me. This set comes with a "drink of the day" as well.
