Yap Beng Bah Kut Teh, Taman Equine

Venue: Restoran Yap Beng Bak Kut Teh, Taman Equine
Overall comment: One of the better bak kut teh nearest to Cyberjaya.
Halal: No

I notice that I've been eating too much pork recently. All I could say is a big "thank you" to my beloved colleagues for engraving the love for pork into my desires. Hahaha. The gang loves porky food, so at any opportunity, they will suggest meal places that serves pork.

Almost every Friday, we'll end up having bah kut teh at Taman Equine. It's almost like our 'default Friday lunch place'! The bah kut teh there is one of the better ones nearest to our office, so it does the trick to satisfy our cravings for a porkilicious meal :) On good days, the soup will be really addictive too!

Bah Kut Teh: RM8.50/person
p/s: As for the veggie & shark dishes, I can't recall the prices, but it's not expensive lah :)

Dry Ba Kut Teh for 3 persons
I really enjoy this dish each time we order it. For us, it's our standard order: "sai kuat" (small bone), "cheong" (intestines), & "qu tou" (pig's stomach). Sounds gross for those who don't eat pork nor the pig's innards, eh? You must try if you're non-Muslim...it'll rock you off your socks!

Soup Bah Kut Teh for 3 persons

This is the common bah kut teh. I believe that what makes a good bah kut teh is the soup. If the soup doesn't have that "kick", it's a failure!

Large Stir-Fried "Yau Mak"

The gang enjoys this veggie. All the times where we had this, the veggie was fresh & not over-cooked :)

Deep-Fried Shark Meat
We didn't liked this cos somehow it tasted like those sardines with the soft bone in the middle. All along, if we were to order shark meat, we'll have it stir-fried. This time, we decided to try something different, but I guess what we've been ordering all along tasted much better!

Soup Drinking "Competition"

Caught QQ doing something funny :P

I guess on the overall, this place isn't too bad a place to feed your cravings for pork. It's also an irony how this restaurant is located right next to a vegetarian restaurant! :D

For dry BKT... I have 2 recommendations
1) Yap Chuan BKT in Puchong. Apparently the child prodigy is very good in making this dish
2) Joe Wong BKT @ Jalan SBC4 Batu Caves.. soup version so so only.
Maybe you have tried already so ignore if you already did ok?

->C&C: Wah...u really can't take ur eyes off the "cheong" eh? Sampai kena comment dua kali! *lol* Well-cleaned "cheong" if cooked properly tastes oo-la-la! :D

->thule: Thanks for the recommendations!!! It's too far to travel for lunch during weekdays, but I'll certainly attempt to try on weekends! I haven't been SO far 'til Batu Caves for food!! I should do so someday ;)
