Venue: Kissaten Coffee & Restaurant, IOI Boulevard
Occasion: PerutBesi's birthday & mini-farewell
Overall comment: I wasn't very satisfied with the food here, but the fellowship with friends was awesome! (I love my friends!!!) I don't think I will come back again for their Japanese food as it's not my cup of tea. However, this is just my personal opinion - you may like this place (but you've got to try it out for yourself to find out).
Halal: No
Yes, this is also another back-logged post, but hey, it's still valid! The restaurant's still there!
**********
Kissaten is not your typical Japanese restaurant! If you enjoy something new, funky, & contemporary, yet still has the Japanese touch, this is the place for you! :)
Located at IOI Boulevard, this 'cool-looking' coffee & restaurant outlet stands out among the many other restaurants at this area; mainly because of its name...hahaha. According to my personal observation, this place looks like an interesting place for some drinks. They surely have some very unique fruit & vegetable juices, & without a doubt, their beer bar speaks a welcome call to those who are interested in something alcoholic :) I'm quite sure that Kissaten boasts of its coffee selection as well since it's a coffee & restaurant dining place.
It's opened for lunch & dinner. They do have lunch promotions every now & then (or perhaps all the time, I don't know! :P)
This restaurant has 2 sections/shop space. The section with the bar was slightly cramped, but the other section looked quite spacious & comfortable. The walls were also filled with colourful fruits & food, which makes the place rather 'appetizing' :D Oh, the white & brown colours used for the tables & chairs makes the place looks 'cleaner' & 'brighter' as well :)
The restaurant promotes: Good friends, Good Food, & Good beer!
I can't recall what this drink was...since I didn't pay for my order here & didn't have any access to the bill as well, I just couldn't record the actual price & name down :(
I thought this was rather interesting. I haven't tried having the sour grapefruit with Perrier water before...so I was slightly fascinated when Rao ordered this...
What do you think this could be? :D
Food at Kissaten are available ala carte or in sets, with prices starting from RM25.00 & above.
Each set comes with a meat dish (like this one's Salmon), a bowl of rice, a cup of chawanmushi, & a bowl of miso soup.
What an interesting looking pizza! The joy & honour of 'bursting' the egg....oooooo.....fun! The pizza tastes pretty delicious too! Of course you can't expect the typical Italian-style tomato-base pizza, as it is firstly NOT an Italian pizza ;)
There was SOO much pork & somehow the whole dish wasn't nice. It was too much for 1 person, plus it wasn't tasty enough to get us eating with satisfaction. Most of us who ordered this set didn't finish our bowl of rice & pork. Jelak! Thankfully a few of us shared...
Erm...nothing much to shout about. The pork belly wasn't very flavourful.
Jelak la...too much meat :S
This was a relieve! Thankfully the unagi tasted pretty good as compared to the rest of the dishes that we ordered! If I ever come back to Kissaten, I shall order this...nothing else :S I'm Ruthless...no compromise in food quality for the price I pay!
Not exactly very good. It's probably 90% fresh only, but good enough to not make you "not eat" it :P
I love them...I love my colleagues, whom I can call friends!! :D

Venue: Manhattan Fish Market, Putrajaya
Occasion: Lunch with Toby (birthday treat & mini-farewell)
Overall comment: The platter's too large for the both of us to finish up everything. Food is so-so only. I find that the best MFM is still in 1Borneo Mall, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah!
Halal: Yes
Just a "side line" from this Kissaten's post...prior to dinner at Kissaten, dear Toby treated me to lunch at Manhattan Fish Market at Alamanda Shopping Centre. Thank you very much for the lovely lunch & catch up, Toby! :)
There's deep fried fish, calamari, prawns, & mushrooms! He knew I love mushrooms, so we ordered this instead of the other platter for two :)
That's all for this time around :D Stay tuned with PerutBesi cos I've loads more of yummilicious posts coming on your way!
Much love,
Ruth
