Dates: 23 - 25 October 2009, Friday - Sunday
Venue: Penang
Occasion: Visitation to the Northern District TRAC MYF committee members, Penang Wesley youths, & Penang Trinity youths.
James & I made a last-minute decision to head up north to visit the Northern District TRAC MYF committee as well as the youths in both Penang Wesley & Penang Trinity. On the overall, it was a wonderful trip. We really thank God for over-seeing the youths & the energetic & fun counsellors in Penang. It was encouraging to see their enthusiasm & passion for the Lord :)
There was no doubt that being in Penang also means eating to our heart's content ;) So here's to share with you on what we had & what you could look out for when you're in the Pearl of the Orient.

Day 1
Friday was our 1st day/night in Penang. We left my place in Shah Alam around 8p.m. & arrived in Penang around 11pm, stopping by once throughout the journey. In Penang, we stayed at Jane & Daniel's place in Bayswater, a really beautiful & strategically located condominium, very near to the bridge, beside Tesco, & not too far from town ;) Thank God the traffic wasn't too heavy on the night that we traveled
The house was really beautiful. Jane & Daniel's interior designer specializes in "country-style" homes, & did up their house very nicely. Walking into their house felt like a 'dream come true' for me...hahaha...it felt very homey & the fact that I love flowers made me even more delighted when her house is covered by small flower prints! :D
The 1st Penang food that we were served for supper was the humble yam cake a.k.a. "wu tao kou". Wow... this is a MUST try... New World Park's Yam Cake at Swatow Lane. The yam cake was soft & "yammy", plus it was covered with indescribably fragrant fried tiny dried shrimps! Oh my goodness...it was heavenly!!! I've had very delicious yam cakes before, but this one was "outta-da-world!"
Approaching the Penang bridge
Mr President - James a.k.a. the driver :D

My room for the weekend
Some people said her house looked like a hospital, but I felt it was nice :)

#1 Yam Cake
Soft, smooth, light, delicious, fragrant, perfect in taste! You can just eat it on its own ;) It's not very expensive as well...around RM1.70/piece?
