Date: 21 June 2009, Sunday
Venue: Cintaria @ DJ, Damansara Jaya (click on this link for more info)
Occasion: Lunch with counselor & youths from Emmnuel Methodist Church, PJ
Overall comment: I've blogged about this place before. The food here is actually not too bad, so goes the price - it's rather reasonable for a cafe, but we were there that Sunday for lunch solely because our dear friend, James, was doing his internship there & he asked us to try out the Father's Day menu items that he had invented. Erm...portion for the Father's Day dishes were FAR TOO small...looking at the portion of the food brought me to near tears...(I'm not exaggerating!)
Chris, Shu, & I joined the EMC gang for lunch that Sunday - all to support our dear friend, James :) We thought it was a 'lil pricey to pay more than RM20 for lunch, so we thought we'll share the Father's Day set & order 1 more main dish. Truly a wise decision. Without the 'side dishes', we'll feel rather miserable with our lunch. Thank goodness the other dishes were large in portion! You gotta try their fried rice - LARGE man! Oh yes, their spaghetti bolognase as well....fuh...*burp* :D
Here's what we had:
Green Salad with Egg, served with Honey Mustard Dressing
Soooo small :(
Why did they soak the baguette into the soup...??? :(
Erm...a bit too small, right...? If my dad was to eat this, he'll sure say that it's not filling. Even I can't find satisfaction in the portion *sigh* The taste is actually not too bad, I'm just disappointed with the portion...it looks fine in the photo, but not in reality, I'm afraid...
I've no idea what this is called already...something with cream & cookies la...sorry James, I'm not a fan of this...you've cooked WAY better stuff & I still like the food you cooked before these....
I can't remember its actual name, but the gest of it. It's quite nice, really. At least by ordering this & the grilled chicken platter, we were more filled!
Nice :) It's flavorful & the mash is lovely :) It's not too heavy, but filling. The taste & smell of the herbs was well brought-out & it enhanced the entire dish altogether.
Looked SO yummy! I kinda regreted not ordering this...hahaha...the lasagne's filling is made from ground chicken instead of beef and is served piping hot with roast potatoes and salad *yums* One of the youths had this & he looked satisfied :P
I can't recall how much this costs, but the portion was SO large! When it arrived at our table, it looked like a mount of spaghetti! The young guy was struggling to finish it, & mind you, young guys can really eat, but this dish was really generous in portion! It looks delicious as well :)

Date: 21 June 2009, Sunday
Venue: Restoran Makanan Laut Wang Chiew, SS2
Occasion: Father's Day dinner
Overall comment: Reasonably good food at reasonable prices as well. The place is slightly difficult to locate if you're not familiar with SS2's housing area, but with the GPS or a map, you'll get there without much hassle. The crowd was constantly pouring in table after table, & they're famous for their curry beancurd (curry taufu) & curry fish head, if I'm not mistaken. It's been quite a while since I was last there prior to Father's Day :)
This is a common vegetable dish at Chinese restaurants. My family kinda likes this veggie since it's not too tough to chew on & it's delicious as well :)
The chicken is a little too dry, though the flavor was quite alright...it's not something that I would highly recommend though. I'm sure they have much better chicken dishes apart from this one...
This was the best dish overall. The curry was fragrant & well-flavored, & the beancurds have absorbed the curry, which made it really tasty :) It's a lil too oily though :S Really high in cholesterol & not good for the heart!
