Shogun, Sunway Pyramid - Japanese Buffet

>> Thursday, June 4, 2009

Date: 27 May 2009, Wednesday
Venue: Shogun, Sunway Pyramid
Occasion: May babies birthday celebration
Overall comment: The variety of food was quite extensive, but somehow I just didn't really enjoy the food there....no "umph" lah....thank goodness the fellowship with friends was very enjoyable. I doubt I'll go for this outlet's buffet again unless I have no choice...

The selection of sashimi. Quite fresh, so it's not too bad...

They didn't allow me to take photos of their food at the counters/stalls, so I can only take those that I put on my plate :( So sad....bummer...

Assortment of sushi
Taste-wise is ok, but I just don't feel the "umph" in eating the sushi...

Pretty-looking sushi...but didn't taste THAT great...

The oysters were quite fresh, but I just didn't fancy eating so much of it...it gets 'geli' after eating too many raw stuff...hahaha...

From afar, this dish looked really good & I love unagi (eel) anyways....but it has SO many bones! Bleagh...me no likey...

I've no idea how these tastes like since I didn't eat it, but it doesn't look all that inviting, does it? :S

My friend, Yo, just loves eating these! She had SO many plates of these...but it's kinda nice :P Yums :)

They had a station for cheesy seafood, but after having so much food, cheese just doesn't taste nice anymore :(

If the tempura items are hot & "just out of the wok", then it's really lovely! The soft shell crabs that I had was fresh from the wok, so it was really yummy :)

We could actually pick what we want to be stir-fried & just wait for the dish to be done on the spot. We had loads of mushrooms, 'tau miu' veggie, & some broccoli for Joey....it didn't turn out nice....the sauce they used made the dish too salty & doesn't have that fresh veggie taste *sigh*

There wasn't a good variety of fruits somehow...and don't bother trying the chocolate dip - it's too diluted & besides, there aren't any strawberries to be coated with the chocolate sauce! Coating apples and melons just ain't nice...wergh...

The variety of ice cream that they had was fairly well. Nothing much to shout about. Perhaps I was way too full to actually enjoy the ice cream *shrugs*
