I was in Kuantan last weekend to attend Ing Cheon's wedding :) It was a lovely moment for Ing Cheon, I'm very sure of that. Being in Kuantan also meant my monthly meet-up with Aaron. Throughout the whole weekend in Kuantan, I had quite some time to spend with him & my family there.
On Saturday night itself, Aaron & I decided to go for some Japanese dinner. We've always had Western/Chinese dinner, so we thought of having a change in food-type. Sendo No Ya was the recommended Japanese restaurant (according to chi-chi, who attempts to try every new food outlet in town). We were very hungry that time, so anything & everything will do for the both of us. Thankfully, we didn't order too much, so what we ordered was sufficient to make us "happy", not "full" :)
All we had was 1 main dish for ourselves (which we shared as well cos we both wanted to try every other thing) & a side dish to share. We were both very satisfied :)
Here's what we had:
Who doesn't like unagi? The both of us love unagi, especially when it's done nicely. This unagi was delicious. The one that I had in Shogun had tiny bones everywhere! This one's quite clean & clear! :D *Nyam nyam nyam*
Raw fish rice & tempura lunch box. This made me REALLY happy!! It's an authentic 'Happy Meal'! I have everything that I could possibly try :) From tempura to sashimi, sushi, rice, & soba...fuh. Lovely! All the food items in the bento were really good. I give this bento set 2 thumbs up! There were 4 types of raw fish (fresh & 'sweet'!), 4-5 pieces of tempura, a generous helping of sushi (or was it just sashimi? :S it was too good that it went straight into my mouth!) AND more rice, plus some soba for variety. How does that sound to you? It's not TOO costly as well ;) Oh ya, the only set-back is the miso soup...cold :(
Jumbo prawn rolled with seaweed & mango. This was a rather interesting dish. It's our 1st time trying this out & we loved it :) Slightly sweet due to the mango, & savory as well. It's a yummilicious side dish :)
If you happen to be in Kuantan, this place is worth a try ;)
