Welcoming the new year a little late

>> Thursday, January 15, 2009

Date: 10th Jan 2009
Venue: Kulim
Occasion: New Year celebration cum housewarming :P

All the while I thought organizing a BBQ party is 'wet wet water' (very easy). Not till I organized one myself and I ended up lying on the bed the whole day after the party. Too tired to do anything else *shame* :P

The party was a long-awaited one. My housemate and I started planning for it since end of last year :) Food preparation started a night before. Both of us marinated the lamb without knowing the exact recipe :P None of us has experience in it before...hehe. So bad of us to treat our guests as guinea pigs :P But...thanks god the lamb turn out to be very very nice!!

Recipe for lamb marinade:

  • Mustard
  • Teriyaki Sauce
  • Thyme Leaves (best if can find fresh one from supermarket, else can use those dried one)
  • Rosemary Leaves
  • Lemon Juice
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Black Peppercorn
  • Fine Sugar
How to marinade? - Pour a bit of everything onto the lamb and mix it evenly with your hand :P Be careful not to hurt your hand as the lamb might have sharp soft bone.

Heaty stuffs

Cooling stuffs ;)
Ruth taught me how to prepare the potato salad. I added few other ingredients as well. Nice! :)

Recipe for potato salad:
  • 7 small-medium sized potato (try to get those that look like baby potato with slight light brown transparent skin. Boil for 20minutes and cut into big cubes)
  • 1/4 yellow onion (don't get those red color one, yellow onion will be slightly sweet, crunchy and nice to eat)
  • 1 hard boiled egg (cut into cubes)
  • Some chopped parsley
  • Mayonnaise
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

The rib very heavy a!!

Twister

Mixed 'juice' game
Everyone after the heaty dinner :)
