Wah Tian Seafood Restaurant, Seri Kembangan

>> Sunday, September 21, 2008

Date: 18 September 2008
Venue: Wah Tian Seafood Restaurant, Seri Kembangan
Opened for: Lunch & dinner
Overall comment: The portion was rather small for a table of 10 people! We ordered the set meal for 10 people (RM99.00), but the portion was just way too small...just enough to feed everyone, but not enough to satisfy. The price was alright, though we felt it wasn't worth paying for the portion we got. The only nice thing is that this place offers free flow of ice cream...so that kinda makes people happy eating there *shrugs*

Fresh Fish

Soup of the day
The radish soup was a little bland. Nothing very spectacular. I feel that the radish soup at the Sister Lam Yong Tau Foo Restaurant is WAY better!

XO Chicken
Chicken pieces were dry & not very tasty. I couldn't taste whatever XO in this dish :( A little disappointing la...we expected more from this dish

Chilli Prawns
I've no idea what's the glamourous name for this dish, but it sure tasted like sambal/chilli prawns. The prawns were quite fresh, but the portion was so small! Each person was entitled to roughly one prawn each only! *sigh*

Claypot Beancurd
This dish is relatively nice. Probably the better dish among the many dishes on the table...yet, it's still just a beancurd dish like any other found in other restaurants

Claypot Fish (Red Talapia)
This was something that I had in Kuantan! The fish was fresh, but as mentioned, rather small to feed 10 persons nicely. The soup was also a little bland & could do with more flavour

Fried Egg "Fu Yong" Style
The only thing that I could locate significantly were the pieces of 'crabsticks' in this egg! So strange...I wonder if it's really fu yong egg! I expected items like onions, Chinese sausages ("lap cheong" in Cantonese), prawns, chilli, & spring onions in such a dish... :S

Honey Nestum Chicken ("Mak Chap Nestum Kai" in Cantonese)
The taste for this chicken dish is quite nice, but it would taste better if the chicken was chopped in larger pieces. At least it wouldn't feel so 'boney' :P The Nestum could be deep fried to better perfection though ;)
Stir-fried Yau Mak
Ok, this dish wasn't exactly what I expected it to be. It's SO small in portion...and mind you, we haven't exactly touched the veggie when I took the photo...really! *faints*

Ice Cream of many falvours
This is perhaps the one thing that makes most of this restaurant's patrons happy-- free flow of ice cream with fresh crispy cone. Mmm...u can have it for appetizer, main course, & dessert, & no one will bother stopping you from indulging in it! :P

Celebrating a friend's birthday
The birthday girl is so happy!

The chocolate sponge cake from Kings Confectionary
Kings actually offer quite delicious cakes. I personally like their chocolate sponge :)
