Sweets from India
>> Tuesday, May 13, 2008
I had this really interesting sweet from India, which I think is called the Mansarovar Sweet...or maybe not! Haha... we don't know what it's called...I just found out that Mansarovar is a name of a place (Mansarovar Lake) in Tibet :P One of my project team members from India brought it back to Malaysia when he came back today :) I'll usually not fancy Indian sweets cos I'm not a great fan of sweet stuff :P
This sweet is quite nice & not very sweet too! It's made to mirror the 'watermelon', so it's green on the outside & pink on the inside, with some actual kuaci (dried watermelon seeds) in it! Mmm...all my friends didn't dare try it. So not adventurous la...
The sweet has a distinctive rose-syrup taste/smell & the sweetness of condensed milk/plain sugar mixed with ghee & flour. It reminds my project team members who ate it of the Chinese mooncake :D It'll be nice to have it sold in Malaysia though. Something interesting & more yummy than the really sweet-diabetes causing Indian sweets...teehee
If any of you who read this post know what this sweet is called, do drop us a comment!!
